Big Spring Refinery

  • Location: Big Spring, Texas
  • Throughput capacity: 70,000 barrels per day
  • Products: ultra-low sulfur gasoline, ultra-low sulfur diesel, jet fuel, petrochemicals, petrochemical feedstocks, asphalt and other petroleum products

The Alon refinery in Big Spring, Texas, is a sour crude cracking facility with a throughput capacity of 70,000 barrels per day. It obtains domestic crude from the Permian Basin and Gulf Coast, and foreign crude via the Amdel Pipeline, delivering refined products via major third-party pipelines to various locations in the Southwest and Mid-Continent.

The Big Spring Refinery has the capability of turning less-expensive sour crude into highly refined products, from clean gasoline and petrochemical products to jet fuel and ultra-low-sulfur diesel–a cleaner, more-efficient fuel that offers an immediate answer to the concerns about greenhouse gas production and global warming.
