Business: ALON USA is a Dallas-based independent refiner and marketer, which operates primarily in the South Central, Southwest, and Western regions of the United States. ALON USA is majority owned by ALON Israel Oil Co. Ltd, and was formed when ALON Israel purchased  downstream operations of Atofina Petrochemical, Inc. (FINA) in August 2000.  ALON USA's common stock is traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "ALJ".
